President's Message

Greetings,

What a superb club social we had Sunday afternoon.  Thanks to Dan and Jan Small for hosting us with beverages, food and comaraderie!  The art studio tour was an extra benefit.  Most of us ended up with some of Jan's "leftover" paintings.  Of course we felt obligated to take them since she didn't want to move them to Washington wink.

Neighbors Day was a success on Friday, April 25.  We had 5 hard working teams, plus 9th and 4th graders, attacking 29 yards in Caledonia.  Thanks to Sherry for organizing the operation as well as raking some yards, helping to haul loads to the city dump, and lugging the collection of rakes to Mary Ann's and back to her garage.  Thanks to Mary Ann's for giving us a spot to send out teams.  Appreciation also goes to members Dan, Tom, Craig, and Andrea and to City Manager, Jake Dickson.  And, the follow up pizza and beverage hit the spot!

Dan announced that he and Jan will be moving to Washington . . . probably the end of June.  The Board discussed leadership for our 2025-26 year.  Dan has agreed to presidential tasks from afar.  We thought members could take turns facilitating our meetings.  We will discuss this further at our May 2nd meeting and I will provide a sign up sheet so we can each take a month of meetings.  Who knows, we may be starting a whole new approach to club leadership?

Recipients of four $500 scholarships have been selected.  They will receive their checks after completing the first quarter/semester and continuing their education.

Enjoy May flowers.

In Rotary Service,
Naomi

Grant Management Seminar On Zoom

The annual Grant Management Seminar will occur on Wednesday, February 12th from 6:30- 8:00 pm on Zoom. Any Rotarian in D6250 that is interested in learning about District Grants and Global Grants is encouraged to attend. There will be content relevant to your experience level whether you are brand new to the grant process or have led grant projects in the past.

Please note that as part of Grant Qualification for clubs in D6250, each club that wants to lead a District Grant or Global Grant (host or sponsor club) in RY2025-26 is required to send at least one person to the Grant Management Seminar. If your club cannot find someone to attend, then you can do the Grant Management Module on The Learning Center and send the certificate of completion to District Rotary Foundation Chair Erin Luken. The Learning Center mostly covers Global Grants, though, and does not have district-specific information related to District Grants.

Please sign up via the event on our district calendar: Grant Management Seminar.
Upon signing up you will receive the Zoom link. Course materials will be provided both before and after the seminar. All attendees are encouraged (but not required) to complete the Grant Management Seminar at The Learning Center at their own convenience. You can access the module by logging into MyRotary, clicking on The Learning Center, and searching Grant Management in the search bar.
