There are several events in August for which we can volunteer as Rotarians.
The Helping Hands Back Pack program will be held August 2 and 3. Consider volunteering to help for at least part of one or both of those days. Each volunteer will monitor a table of school supplies. Friday volunteers should show up at 11:30. First shift lasts till 3 p.m. Second shift is 3:pm to 6 pm. Saturday shift is 8 am to 12 noon. This is held at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Any amount of time you can give will be appreciated. Last year over 300 backpacks were given out.
Volunteers are always needed to monitor the Houston County Historical Society buildings at the county fair August 15 - 18. If you are interested, call the society at 507-725-3884.
Parking at Wiebke's yard on August 16 and 17 late afternoon into evening. Three can handle this.
The board decided on the following ways to balance our budget:
Expand rose sales
Put out gift boxes at local businesses to "Give the Gift of Reading" during the holiday season. Proceeds go to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library project.
Hold a RibFest, perhaps in May
We welcome District Governor Todd Restel to our club meeting on August 9th!
